Product Information
EquiCoxib™ Oral Solution is the first FDA-approved oral solution of firocoxib designed to help more accurately dose horses, regardless of weight, compared to the wide dosing range specified in dosing firocoxib tablets. Firocoxib is a nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drug (NSAID) used in the treatment of pain and inflammation associated with osteoarthritis in horses.

EquiCoxib™ Oral Solution should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. 
Only administer EquiCoxib with the provided oral dosing syringe. DO NOT INJECT.
May be given with or without food.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give two doses at once.
Side Effects
Common side effects may include diarrhea/loose stools, sores or lesions on the tongue/inside & around the mouth, and/or decreased appetite. Notify your veterinarian if side effects appear and remain troublesome.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following medications have been noted to have potential interactions with firocoxib (but is not a comprehensive list): ACE inhibitors (eg, benazepril, enalapril), amlodipine, aspirin, clodronate (OSPHOS), clomipramine (Clomicalm), clopidogrel, corticosteroids, fluconazole, furosemide, insulin or oral antidiabetic agents, pentoxifylline, (other) NSAIDs, oral anticoagulants, sildenafil, sulfonamides, and telmisartan (Semintra). Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Ensure your veterinarian is aware of all medications and/or supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a potential drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
Cautions
For oral use in horses only. Do not use in horses intended for human consumption.
Not for use in humans. Keep this and all medications out of the reach of children and other animals. Wash hands with soap and water after use. Consult a physician in case of accidental ingestion by humans.
The safety of EquiCoxib has not been determined in horses less than one year of age or in breeding horses, pregnant or lactating mares.
Horses with a history of hypersensitivity to firocoxib should not receive EquiCoxib Oral Solution. Be sure to inform Vetsource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. 
If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, discontinue therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; widespread hives and itching.
Adverse Reactions
Treatment with EquiCoxib should be terminated if signs such as inappetence, colic, abnormal feces, or lethargy are observed.

Storage
Store in a cool, dry place at controlled room temperature below 77°F. Brief excursions up to 104°F are permitted. Store in a childproof container and out of the reach of children. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medication in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink, or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
