The Exo Terra Bird’s Nest Fern is an extremely realistic replica of its natural counterpart. Bird’s Nest Fern (Asplenium nidus) is native to Eastern Tropical Africa, Tropical Southeast Asia and Australasia. This amazing fern thrives both epiphytal or terrestrial and can thus be found growing high up in palm trees but also on the rich organic matter of the tropical forest floor. The Bird’s Nest Fern gets its name from the fact that the center of the plant resembles a bird’s nest. The Bird’s Nest Fern creates a 3-dimensional habitat and increases dwelling space significantly. The bright green lance-shaped leaves not only provide shade, but also create a visual barrier which lets your reptiles and amphibians experience an increased feeling of safety and reduced stress. Exo Terra’s artificial ground cover plants are easy to clean & maintain, while the weighted base allows you to easily position the plant after maintenance.
The Exo Terra Bird’s Nest Fern is ideal for use in more ‘sterile’ set-ups (e.g. quarantine terrariums) or in those spots of the terrarium where live plants cannot thrive or survive.
A combination of live plants and Exo Terra’s artificial plants allows you to fully plant a terrarium, even in the hottest or driest parts.
