Neo-Predef® with Tetracaine is a antibacterial powder used for skin and ear infections. In addition, it is indicated as a superficial dressing, which can be applied to minor cuts, wounds, lacerations and abrasions, and for post-surgical application to reduce inflammation.

Benefits

Usage
Neo-Predef® with Tetracaine should be administered as directed by your veterinarian. Clean the affected area to remove any debris and thoroughly dry the area. Apply the prescribed amount of powder by compressing the sides of the container with short, sharp squeezes. Do not let the tip of the container come in contact with anything moist, including a moist lesion or skin. Apply this medication for the time period prescribed by your veterinarian.
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Possible side effects may include redness (from sensitivity to neomycin), temporary loss of hearing or balance (if applied to a ruptured eardrum). The following reactions are rare, but if the pet experiences an allergic reaction such as irregular breathing, rash, fever, puffiness and swelling around the face contact your veterinarian immediately.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
There are no documented drug interactions with this medication. Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Cautions
Neo-Predef® with Tetracaine should not be used in pets with deep infections, puncture wounds, or burns. Your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store at 68°F to 77°F in controlled room temperature. Replace the cap securely when not in use. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
