Spironolactone 25 mg Tablets 30 ct & 60 ct: 7 mm, white, round, film coated tablets, not scored, imprinted with AN;511. (Manufacturer Amneal: NDC 53746-0511-05)
Spironolactone 50 mg Tablets 100 ct: 9 mm, white, round tablets, scored in half, imprinted with SP;IT;50. (Manufacturer Aurobindo: NDC 59651-0427-01)

Spironolactone 50 mg: Silicon dioxide, corn starch, lactose monohydrate, magnesium stearate, peppermint oil, polysorbate 80, povidone K25. (NDC NDC 59651-0427-01)
Usage
Spironolactone should be given orally as directed by your veterinarian. Wash hands after handling this medication.
Side Effects
Side effects may include excessive thirst, drowsiness, weakness, restlessness, diminished urination in relation to fluid intake, or stomach upset. Notify your veterinarian if side effects are noted and they are troublesome.
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with spironolactone: Digoxin, mitotane, neuromuscular blockers, triamterene, potassium supplements, or salicylates. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, and a drug interaction may be anticipated. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely. 
Cautions
This medication does not have an FDA approved indication for use in animals, but it is a common and acceptable practice for veterinarians to prescribe this human medication for use in animals.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.
Human Exposure Warning
This medication may represent a hazard to males or females who are actively trying to conceive, women who are pregnant or may become pregnant, and women who are breast feeding, because it may be present in breast milk. Unopened, intact tablets and capsules may not pose the same degree of risk as injectable drugs that usually require extensive preparation. Cutting, crushing, or otherwise manipulating tablets and capsules will increase the risk of exposure. Wear gloves while handling this medication. Wash your hands thoroughly with soap and water after handling this medication.

Storage
Store at 68°F to 77°F in controlled room temperature. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
