Usage
Equioxx® Tablets should be given to your horse as directed by your veterinarian. 
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
Side effects may include some mild stomach upset, ulcers or sores on tongue or in mouth, sores or lesions on facial skin or lips, diarrhea, decreased appetite, and/or drowsiness. Notify your veterinarian if side effects appear and remain troublesome. 
Other side effects may occur. If you notice anything unusual, contact your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with firocoxib:  nsaids such as phenylbutazone or bute, flunixin, aspirin, ACE inhibitors, corticosteroids, digoxin, fluconazole, furosemide, sulfonamides, oral anticoagulants, and methotrexate. Contact your veterinarian if your horse experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication you are giving to your horse. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your horse more closely. 
Cautions
Safe use in horses less than 1 year of age, horses used for breeding, or in pregnant or lactating mares has not been evaluated. Keep out of reach of children. 
Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your horse has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Adverse reactions may include erosions and ulcers of the gums, tongue, lips & face, weight loss, colic, diarrhea, or icterus. If your horse displays symptoms of an allergic reaction discontinue NSAID therapy and call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store at 59°F to 86°F in controlled room temperature, brief excursions permitted up to 104°F. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
