Usage
CitraVet® should be given as directed by your veterinarian. May be offered free choice orally or crushed over food.  Recommended to be given every 12 hours or as prescribed by your veterinarian.  Follow up visits are recommended to monitor the urine pH and blood values of your pet.

Give 1/4 tablet per 5 lbs   
Give 1/2 tablet per 11 lbs   
Give 1 tablet per 22 lbs
Missed Doses
Give the dose as soon as possible. If it is almost time for the next dose, skip the missed dose, and continue with the regular schedule. Do not give 2 doses at once.
Side Effects
These products are usually well tolerated and adverse reactions are uncommon at recommended doses.  Could affect the gastrointestinal system causing inappetance, vomiting, or diarrhea.  Side effects may occur, if your pet experiences any unusual reactions, stop product administration and consult your veterinarian.
Drug & Food Interactions
The following drugs can potentially interact with potassium citrate: aluminum containing phosphate binders, antacids, amitriptyline, benazepril, carprofen, digoxin, doxycycline, enalapril, enrofloxacin, meloxicam, phenobarbital, phenylpropanolamine, potassium supplements and foods, spironolactone, telmisartan, tramadol, and triamterene. Contact your veterinarian if your pet experiences any unusual reactions when different medications are given together.
Make sure to tell your veterinarian what other medication or supplements you are giving to your pet. Quite often your veterinarian may prescribe two different medications, even if a drug interaction may occur. In this case, your veterinarian may vary the dose and/or monitor your pet more closely.
Cautions
Keep out of reach of children and animals.  For veterinary use only.  Not for use in humans. For oral use only.  Use under veterinary supervision.  Not for use in animals where urine acidifcation is required.  Potassium citrate should not be used in animals with a history of struvite crystals or bladder stones.  Should also not be used in animals with high blood levels of potassium such as with adrenal disease, kidney disease, severe heart disease, or untreated diabetes mellitus.  These supplements are not a replacement for appropriate antibiotic treatment when an active urinary tract infection is present.  Safety in breeding, pregnant, or nursing animals has not been established.  Not recommended for animals with a known hypersensitivity or allergy to this supplement.
Allergic reactions to medications may occur. Be sure to inform VetSource and your veterinarian if your pet has any known drug sensitivities or allergies. If your pet displays symptoms of an allergic reaction, call your veterinarian immediately or go to a veterinary emergency clinic. Symptoms may include but are not limited to: swollen lips, tongue, face, airways; difficulty breathing; agitation; profuse salivation; vomiting; widespread hives and itching.

Storage
Store at 59°F to 86°F in controlled room temperature. Keep this medicine out of reach of children. Store in a childproof container. Store this medicine in a cool, dry place at room temperature. Store away from heat and direct sunlight. Do not store this medicine in the bathroom, near the kitchen sink or in damp places. The medicine may break down if exposed to heat or moisture.
